Magnolia Brewing have posted that they will be closed starting 8/26 as they transition to new owners. If the rumors we’ve heard are true it will be a great transition as the new owners are familiar to those in San Francisco. We hope to know more soon.

[updated] the rumors were true – Magnolia has been taken over by the owner of Fly Bar and Fish Bowl, Kevin Kynoch and 21st Amendment alumni Brendon Phillips. Lion have really dragged Magnolia down and this new management have given me high hopes for the future.

It’s reported that Magnolia will continue brewing beer, expand to a full bar, add some lighter / cheaper bites to the menu, and be reopened by the end of the year!

Now, if we can just get the Grateful Dead mural that covers the top of two walls uncovered!
